Privacy Policy
What this site collects, what it does not, and the choices you have.
Summary
This site is a set of static files. It has no accounts, no login, no comment system and no user database. It does not ask for your name, your email address or any personal detail in order to read a guide. Whatever is collected happens through the third-party services listed below, not through us.
What we operate
- A static file host, which necessarily records the IP address and user agent of each request in its server logs.
- An outbound link checker, which follows links out of the site. Those sites are governed by their own policies, not this one.
- Optionally, Google Analytics, if it has been enabled. Where it is used, this page is updated to say so.
- Optionally, a local search feature that runs entirely in your browser. It sends nothing anywhere.
Analytics
This site can load Google Analytics 4 to count visits. If it does, Google acts as the controller for that processing and its own terms apply. Analytics is loaded asynchronously and does not block page rendering. IP addresses handled by Google Analytics are used for regional reporting and are not stored by us. If analytics has not been configured for this deployment, no analytics code is loaded at all and this section describes nothing that is actually happening.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links are affiliate links. Clicking one may cause the destination site to set a cookie or read a referral identifier so that a commission can be attributed. This happens on the destination site, under its own policy, and we do not receive any information about you from it. See the affiliate disclosure for what that means commercially.
What we do not do
- Sell, rent or share your data. There is no data to share.
- Build advertising or cross-site tracking profiles.
- Run fingerprinting, session recording or heatmaps.
- Ask for a name or an email address to show you a page.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR and the CCPA you have rights over personal data relating to you, including access, correction, deletion, restriction and portability, and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Because we hold no account data, most requests are satisfied simply by the hosting provider's log deletion. For anything else, use the contact page. You can also object to marketing-based cookie processing in your browser controls, or use the Global Privacy Control where your browser sends it.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we knowingly collect no information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Previous versions are not archived on this site.
